Meeting Host Duties

Below is a list of six (6) duties for the ‘Meeting “Host”‘ (formerly known as “Tech Assistant”) for each meeting of the Compulsive Eaters Anonymous – H. O. W. (CEA-HOW) on the Electronic Intergroup (English).

Open & Welcome

~ 15 minutes before the meeting starts, login as the ‘Meeting “Host”‘

Participant Naming

~ Rename/Ensure participant’s screen name is within the naming convention voted on by the intergroup. ONLY their first name or first name and last initial; phone numbers, places, or anything out side of this needs to be removed. (Note: participants do not have the ability to change their own name, the “Host” must do this)

Participant Noise Maintenance

~ Mute members who have distracting noise in their background; keep non speaking members muted. Do not be afraid to mute unaware members.
~Unmute members who are having difficulty unmuting.

Chat Function

~ Turning the chat to “Host Only” while the meeting is in progress (to eliminate cross talk)

~ At the 7th Tradition turn the chat to “Everyone Publicly” for sharing of 7th tradition information and contact information for outreach.

Meeting Safety

~ Remove unknown participants who do not respond (or communicate) to identification requests from the meeting “Host” and separate meeting leader
